How do you define a qualified recipient for your mentorship? : A woman with secure childcare (if she is a mother), reliable transportation, passion and drive to work hard, preferably some previous experience either personal or professional.
Comments:: I am a hispanic postpartum doula near the city of Houston TX. Though we are a diverse city there are not many birthworkers of color due to the financial inaccessibility of programs. I would like to help change this by mentoring birthworkers of color. I am a postpartum doula but also a lactation educator, placenta encapsulator and soon to be breastfeeding counselor. I believe that women of color are in desperate need of support along the full spectrum of prenatal/postnatal care and I want to help make this happen in anyway I can.

How do you define a qualified recipient for your mentorship? : I would like a black woman and a spanish speaking woman who is committed to making changes in our community. Someone with a servants heart that knows this is a calling, not with the intent to becoming rich.
Comments:: I have been actively seeking women in my community for over a month now, speaking at MOMS Club events, posting on social media, and trying to get the word out that our community needs women of color and Spanish speaking women to serve in the community. I am an Evidence Based Birth Instructor® and certified Birth and Bereavement Doula® looking to create thought and change here in this high population of low income families.
